Sub Branch Membership

Returned Service and current serving personel who wish to join the Club and Sub Branch are required to submit a Sub Branch Membership application form.

Renewals - Sub-Branch

Renewal cost is $10 per annum. 5 year renewal is currently not an option for Sub Branch Members.

* Eligibility

All eligible Ex-Servicemen or current Servicemen and Women are invited to join the Sub-Branch. Any person who served in the Australian Defence Force in any theatre of conflict or, any person who served for not less than six(6) months in the Regular or Reserve Forces of the Australian Defence Force, of any Country, NOT an enemy of Australia, are eligible for Membership. In addition, any person who fulfilled their commitment as a National Serviceman is eligible. Discharge papers or a Certificate of Service must accompany each application. Serving Members of the armed services require a letter from the official records officer of their respective service showing when they joined.

Application forms are available from the Club Office or the Doorman. Further details and assistance with applications can be obtained from the Honorary Secretary of the sub branch or the Club Office.

New Australian Defence Medal (ADM)

The Defence Department has provided the following information on the new medal:-

Detailed eligibility criteria is yet to be established, but in essence, it is for six (6) years volunteer Regular/Reserve service.

It will be retrospective to the end of WW2.

The design will be developed along with regulations for the medal. These have to be approved by the Queen, and production will not begin before the approval is received.

The first of the medals are not expected to be issued before mid 2005.

The ADM is not to replace the DSM or DLSM. These awards remain for the intention of recognizing long service.

Applications are not being accepted now. A special application from will be made available after details of eligibility are established and approved. This will be subject of a later media release.
